Public bookings for the West End and Broadway’s smash-hit musical The Book of Mormon are open starting today.
The Tony, Oliver and Grammy award-winning show revealed their 2020 Scottish Tour dates on Monday after a week-long online and poster teaser campaign that simply said “The Mormons are coming…”, pointing out Aberdeen and Edinburgh as their locations.
The critically-acclaimed musical will hold its Scottish premiere on Tuesday 5 May next year at His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen and will run for 3 weeks until Saturday 23 May.
The show has sold out every single one of its performances since the premiere on Broadway in March 2011 and is expected to be a sensation in the Granite City.

Aberdeen Performing Arts Director of Programming and Creative Projects, Ben Torrie, said: “We are delighted that the Mormons are bringing their Mission to Aberdeen and we could not be more excited to have this multiple-award winning, world-famous musical at HMT for its Scottish premiere.
He added: “It’s not for the faint-hearted, but if you’re looking for a production that is sharp, witty and very funny, this is the show for you!”
Described by critics as “funny, offensive and cheekily smart entertainment for adults” and “one of the freshest original musicals in recent memory”, The Book of Mormon tells the story of two young Mormons on their first mission to spread the Lord's word to the inhabitants of a remote Ugandan village.
Book, music and lyrics are by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, creators of award-winning television show South Park, and Robert Lopez, who co-wrote the songs for Disney’s Frozen and Coco.
Tickets for The Book of Mormon are available at www.thebookofmormonmusical.com and at the theatre box offices.
