Phoenix Theatre is a critically-acclaimed theatre company in Aberdeen that produces professional musicals, pantos and concerts. The group’s past repertoire includes a wide range of highly-praised musicals such as Jekyll and Hyde, Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd and The King and I. Phoenix Theatre hold

The company also runs Phoenix Youth Theatre - a drama and dance school for children aged 7-18 with specialist junior classes for children aged 4-6. All classes work throughout the year towards a major production, which is being held before the Summer break. The company’s directors say their aim is to induce love and appreciation for the performing arts and help children build their confidence and create lifetime friendships, while teaching them discipline, co-operation and teamwork.

Many of Phoenix Theatre’s and Phoenix Youth Theatre’s pupils go on to professional performing in major companies. The company’s founders and directors, Liz Milne and Clare Haggart, have also recently been awarded British Empire Medals (BEM) for services to theatre and the arts, in the Queen’s Birthday 2019 Honours List. The award is a recognition of the great impact they have had on the culture in the North-East and on the thousands of children who have been in the Phoenix Theatre for the past 30 years.
